ETHOS: Â An endeavour to Changing habits to better lifestyles adopting biophilia as core philosophy.
This plan has been conceptualized as a cluster of 3 spaces integrating into one home designed to suit the needs and climatically correct encouraging nature to take over. Journeying into three living spaces. The house has a harmonious spirit and an unpretentious ambience. The individual homes were planned to keep in mind the size of the Plot, Sun Path, Family requirements, Climate. The architecture explores the interplay of alliances between plant life, water, sky, built form and humans following biophilic features. Sustainable features include rain water harvesting, solar panels etc.
The intent was High quality housing while maintaining traditional concept of collective living.  The constant presence of water surrounded by oxygen generating plants in every house infuses serenity. The exposed concrete on the elevation is tautly balanced with the earthen colour and screens. A close-to-nature basic palette was selected — stone, wood and concrete — which helped create a stable thermal mass. A veil of timber screens, horizontal and vertical, wraps around the houses, protecting the facade and the main living areas from the harsh sun and heat of the climate of Ahmedabad.
The development also shares several facilities such as a well-equipped gym and jacuzzi in the basement of a separate structure, an outdoor barbeque facility attached to a covered, fully glazed gazebo, and a fire pit to cater to extending to the garden and waterbodies.
The client had a very simple brief. They wanted to stay together and needed the visual and emotional connect to the outside and all the 3 homes. To establish a modern design vocabulary and balance the spatial and visual flow between inside and outside, so outdoor green is a precious part of it. An urban residence that embraces the community living culture. A quite retreat amidst the bustle of the city.
