Living spaces that are closely connected to nature have a different sort of energy to them. This is a credo we follow for all spaces we create — even apartments, which tend to be typically disassociated from nature. Our endeavour, as always, was to create a certain rootedness of the living environment to the earth for a greater sense of well-being and harmony. Biophilic design, that is: the design that seeks “the innate emotional affiliation of human beings to other living organisms”. Studies show that access to green spaces benefits the mental health and boots wellbeing of human. Large stretches of glass draw in the surrounding greenery. The designers drew upon biophilic design principles, which aim to connect people to the natural environment and to satisfy people’s physical and emotional need for nature by integrating the natural world and natural materials. To complete the biophilic experience, the designer used earthy materials to help reinforce a connection to nature so that people are never quite detached from outdoors. The overall objective of earthy simplicity is realized. ‘Raw meets Refinement’.
